FAMINE CAMP

Not bad, i survived! This is seriously hell one of a kind experience. Some new things i've learnt/seen/discovered:

1)Poverty refers to a state whereas basic necessaties are not met. It ranges from education, food, proper sanitation and hygiene, healthcare to money. Basically people who lost their power to lead a normal life are 'povertised'(not sure if this word exists) .

2)Elias' Elephant and Snake joke:
One day the snake asked the elephant" why is ur penis on your face?" and the elephant questioned back" why is your face on your penis?"

3)Elias' lucky plaza joke.

4)Boon Tiong's quote: ____ chio from far, far from chio.

5)Mind over matter works. If not i wouldnn't be here surviving 30 hrs without food

6)Catching is a very fun game/sport/ activity. Some terms recalled: NO REVENGE vs GOT REVENGE AFTER 5 SECONDS.

Although it may sound childish, i seriously think that 'that' allowed me to enjoy more than 50% of my time there. Moreover it effectively diverted my attention away from dwelling too much about hunger. May be retarded though, who the hell wastes their energy on catching when they are already lacking them in the fast!

I'm the retarded one though.

7)world vision suspected to be a christian based organization.(no religion stereotypes intended)
hmm i just thought that the talk sessions somewhat reminded me of preaching sessions. with the 'god bless you' and some christian quotes here and there, especially the candle lighting session. and we did the camp in ACS(barker),a christian based school.

13)my primary school basketball rival from Jurong went to HCJC. he looked very familiar at first and i finally realised it when Dominic introduced him to me.

14)Ahzhu went too! wahaha i never expexted to see him of all people seriously. we used to call him pig for a reason. anw thanks for your prickly powder!

15)its impossible and never nice to bargain prices with people selling merchandises for charity.

18)The apple dude is damn cute, but ShaoChun don't seem to like him.

19)Siyuan's a basket that enjoys suaning people, especaially when we're halfway through 30hrs with that ultimate message.

22)Guan Wei is a joy to have. He was simply 'the entertainer'. Kudos to him too for coming out with the country winning cheer. WooOO WooOO

30)Our bus uncle is one that dosen't know his directions. Boon Tiong actually became the road director halfway when he lost his way at Ang Mo Kio

31)Issac Chay is so popular that people from Dunman High are talking about him.

32)According to Jing Wan, nalgene water bottles are so good that they can survive tanks running over them.

33)Never offend the cooks in NS camps. Or they will make your coffee with dirty socks.According to random NS dude we met.

35)Boon Tiong knows me the best after all. He could actually tell and reacted accordingly when i was unhappy.

36)Famine camp felt like another orientation. Which means that its actually quite enjoyable as a whole!

38)ANY food that is edible will taste nice after 30 hours of fasting.

39)一山还有一山高. Australia actually practices a 40 hour famine camp.

40)Malays are noble.

Overall, it was quite meaningful and enjoyable!
